Another amazing fall Portland hike on the books! 12 gorgeous and athletic mamas and babies stormed this trail, blazing the 1.7 miles steadily uphill 800+ feet to Council Crest. (Warm up, we don’t need no stinkin’ warm up…) Two first-time Hike it Baby mamas came out.

The path was riddled with amber, ale and crimson colored leaves- in a canopy above us, dry and crunchy on the floor below.  Hearts beating, blood pumping, sweat beading and glutes toning on this jaunt. Many varieties of fungus abundantly lining the way.

What greeted us at the top? An ever-so commanding and rare clear view of our glorious mountains. Hood, Helens, Adams and even Rainier were  out today!! One driver passerby stopped, rolled down the window and with a huge smile beamed about how awesome and wonderful we all were out there with our babies.

We circled the top and headed back down the trail at a steady pace. The volunteer-made mosaic at the shelter is now complete- a very cool lush scenic with critters and plants of the pacific northwest.  There are a few alternate trails that converge and provide different options for this area too.
