Hike it Baby on KATU NewsSix mamas and a grandma made it to Mt. Tabor this morning for a special KATU NEWS live toss to Valerie Hurst, who hit the trails with us for a quick morning stroll today.

While 6:30am seemed like an impossible time to get a baby up, we all realized once we got on the trails how calm and quiet and easy it was to get the babies going on a summer-like day. I think there will be some early morning hikes in our future here.

The KATU news piece is our second piece of press in less than two weeks. Last week Gear Junkie featured our “little” hike group in an article on their site. Expect to see another piece out on Hike it Baby this week in NW Kids magazine.

While the press is fun, the reality of Hike it Baby is that we are at a crucial moment where we really need membership funding to continue this amazing group. The hikes will always be free, but this week we added a membership button to the site. Membership will get all Hike it Baby members free entry into parties, a t-shirt and discounts on outdoor gear. We are excited about rolling this out and have a lot companies looking forward to working with us.

Thank you all for your continued support in Hike it Baby. Without you all showing up for hikes, we wouldn’t be pursuing growing this out. Over the next few months we will be sensitive to the organic growth of this group, but it might start getting quite large due to the good weather. To deal with that we will be offering RSVP hikes that are smaller. If you are interested in leading a 3-10 person hike, let us know by emailing billiejo@hikeitbaby.com

Lots of hikes this month so get out there and enjoy the sun!
