Congratulations to Emily Mousette on winning a BOB Revolution Pro stroller, thanks to our Hike it Baby Title Sponsor, BOB. Emily won this great prize by signing up to achieve 30 miles in 30 days OR spend 30 minutes outside 3 times per week with her family.

Hike it Baby hosts the HiB30 Challenge four times per year. Families from all over the globe come together to challenge themselves and encourage each other, forming a supportive and inspiring community. Over the course of January’s challenge, 1,785 families achieved a grand total of 19,238 miles and 819,918 minutes outside. That’s amazing!

This is what Emily had to say about January’s HiB30 Challenge:

You won a Bob Revolution Pro stroller from our Title Partner at BOB. How are you going to use it?

This is amazing!! We walk all the time on our local bike paths – this stroller will definitely be putting on miles 🙂 We also live in a very hilly town so this will be so much better than the stroller we have!

What is your favorite memory from the HiB30 Challenge this January?

We love our weekly HiB walk on Wednesdays where we get to hang out at a playground for a bit in the middle of the hike. It’s always so good to spend time with other HiB moms and for the kids to play outside together!

Did you have any challenges to overcome? If so, how did you overcome them?

I am not a winter person, so to do my first challenge in one of the coldest months was a challenge all it’s own. My son loves being outside, so it was good motivation to just bundle up in extra layers and get outside! We focused on minutes not miles and that was definitely more doable.

What is your number one piece of advice you would give to other families unsure about getting outside for 30 minutes 3 times per week OR achieving 30 miles in 30 days?

Go for what’s achievable. We did minutes over miles. And having my kid cry about going back inside let me know that being outside, even in the cold, was the right thing to do. Also, they sleep better – win win!
