We are celebrating the finish of the September HiB30 Challenge by thanking our Hike it Baby Title Partners at Deuter for the prize of a Deuter carrier!  Amanda Fratrik won just by registering her family to get outside in September for 30 minutes 3 times per week OR to achieve 30 miles in 30 days.

Four times per year, HiB families around the world join in the fun of challenging themselves to get outdoors and to help motivate and inspire other families to do the same. The community created is enthusiastic and shares the highs and lows that affect how we spend our time outdoors. 1,629 Challengers from around the world got outside in every kind of weather for a collective total of 38,641 miles and a total of 1,854,281 collective minutes. That’s amazing!

Here is some insight into how Amanda’s family experienced this Challenge month:

You won a carrier of your choice from our Title Partner at Deuter. How are you going to use it?

My 13-month-old and I will use it to go hiking! We love hiking at our local state parks.

How did joining the HiB30 Challenge make a difference in how your family got outside in September?

The Challenge made us go on several hikes that we wouldn’t have gone on otherwise. It was that thumb on the scale to get out to those hikes we signed up for, even when we were tired, he had a bad nap, or it was a generally cranky day.

Do you have a favorite hiking spot? Did you discover any new places during the Challenge?

I love hiking at Eno River State Park. There are so many trails, but they are all near the river. Every time we see the river, it’s calming.

Tell us about the top 3 moments of the Challenge that stick out for you (the good, the bad or the ugly!!).

Our favorite was doing a walking scavenger hunt around our city for charity. It was a hot day, and I felt a little like backing out at the last minute, but it was really fun and I’m so glad we went. My son also did his first real hiking without being carried during this Challenge–it probably was less than a quarter mile, but to see him toddling down the trail was so exciting! Finally, there was the time that I swear a tree pushed him over. He was standing next to it, and the next thing you know–boom–he was laying on his back in the middle of the trail!

Thanks again to everyone who participated in this September’s HiB30 Challenge! Want to join in the fun and be entered to win awesome prizes, like those given from our friends at Deuter? Stay tuned to join in the next HiB30 Challenge in November!!
