Tell us about your favorite hike in the world!
My favorite hike in the world was the Chilkoot trail I did in 2012. It was incredible and we hope to hike it one day with Ayden. The Hike was 33 miles and if something could go wrong, it did. We braved the elements and enjoyed the most beautiful scenery around. We drove thru Alaska and into Canada and back into Alaska again only to hike thru Alaska, into Canada and took a train back into Alaska. Amazing!
Favorite Hike it Baby moment so far?
Getting out there and meeting other moms and their kids have all been my favorite! Completing the HIB challenges have been so perfect for Ayden and I.
What is the best advice for a new hiking family?
Just get out there and try. And always bring snacks, milk/water and some kind of toy for the little. It’ll make your hike or walk so much more pleasant.
What are your hiking goals for 2015?
Just to get out there more and teach Ayden all I can about the world around him.
Got a favorite trail trick?
No “trick” just be flexible with the kids. And bring snacks. Lol
What is a hiking/outdoors accomplishment with baby that you are most proud of?
Completing our 30 miles in 30 days. The March challenge we hiked over our goal!
What is the most Outrageous thing that has ever happened on a hike!? (Good or bad!:))
One of my first HIB hikes, Ayden had full meltdown. Full. Meltdown. I was beside myself. It was cold outside, Ayden was bundled but not having it.
What kind of gear do you always suggest people get?
A good carrier is essential! Can’t stress that enough!
How has Hike it Baby influenced other aspects of your life?
It gets us out there and challenges us!
