This September we’re excited to introduce you to our Hike it Baby 30 September BINGO board! Throughout the challenge, cross off squares on your BINGO board for the chance to win a prize at the end of the month. Once you have BINGO, multiple BINGO’s, or a blackout board – be sure to share on social media using the hashtag #hib30bingo.
Everyone who registers for Hike it Baby 30 will automatically be entered to win our sponsorship prizes at the end of the challenge. Participating in BINGO and using the hashtag will earn you extra entries.
In light of our new mission, vision, and values as well as doing away with paid membership (the website is up-to-date, also yay!) – anyone and everyone is welcome to join us (read: you don’t have to be a member). While this is a fundraiser in an effort to be equitable – there will be a sliding scale donation at registration. Traditionally, Hike it Baby 30 has been Hike it Baby’s largest fundraiser event. And donations from those who are able will be more important than ever with the transition to free membership. Our events are made possible through sponsorship and participant donations. We suggest a donation (any amount!) but please consider this a free offering if it’s not in your current budget.
Anyone who makes a donation will receive our Hike it Baby 30 September 2020 sticker!
We will still need at least 30% of our revenue to come from our community through donations and direct support of events like Hike it Baby 30, if we expect to be a viable organization over the long term. Like many organizations, the fallout from COVID-19 has impacted Hike it Baby financially. Currently, we are looking at a deficit of $30,000 for 2020. While that seems like a very large number, with roughly 11,000 registered Hike it Baby members, if everyone gave $5 – the average cost of a Starbucks – we would exceed our goal. We need our community members to stand behind us and show us that they feel we’re worth supporting. Please email membership@hikeitbaby.com or info@hikeitbaby.com with any questions.
Similar to April, the goal for this Hike it Baby 30 is just to get outside! The mile and minute tracker will be open for anyone who would like to log minutes and miles but the goal we will be communicating as National is just to get outside!
As you know, we are not hiking under the umbrella of Hike it Baby. Please hike responsibly.
