Our 2020 holiday gift guide is live! This year we Our 2020 holiday gift guide is live! This year we wanted to simplify gift giving with a gift idea list of useful and thoughtful items for anyone who wants to take a step outside. Hit the link in our bio or stories to read the guide.

The holidays are going to look different this year. Take some time to get outside. Even just a step out of your door and a few minutes under the sky can do wonders for the mind and body.

You know that time in nature is medicine for the m You know that time in nature is medicine for the mind and body. And, you know that regular time in nature is essential for children's healthy development.

But not everyone shares this expirience with nature.

Hike it Baby is working to change this.

Be a part of the movement to redefine "Outdoorsy". Support us in our mission to change what it means to go outside and who is welcome there with a financial donation in 2020. Help make it easy for all families, particularly those with babies and young children, to develop a connection to nature, benefit from time outside, and create a better future for all children for generations to come.

As a thank you for your donation and to show your support of the new definition of "Outdoorsy", we've designed these exclusive gifts. Learn more about our work and donate today at the link in bio.

Thank you!

Thank you to our Veterans and their families for y Thank you to our Veterans and their families for your service to this country, including our very own Community Development Manager, Kayla Klein. Kayla served with the US Navy and her husband currently serves with the US Navy.

We know that military families face unique challenges such as frequent relocation and deployment stress. We are proud to be a support system for a number of military families who are part of the Hike it Baby community, including a special online community group. If you're a military family, you can join the group at the link in our stories.

I know I just could not wait!
Hello Everyone, Bre here from @a.breezy.journey showing up for the weekend take over. As a 36 year old avid hiker I just could not wait to get out into nature and exploring with my baby. As soon as I hit 6 weeks postpartum and got the clearance from my doctor we headed to Utah to get onto some of my all time favorite trails. While I know at six weeks baby Kyra will not remember the experience, I hope by starting her early and through my example of love for Mama Earth she will grow to have the same appreciation.
I’m so excited to be a new member of the HiB community and look forward to sharing our weekend adventures and getting to know all of you.
.
Stay tuned and Happy Trekking! #hikeitbaby

Fighting for the environment means something compl Fighting for the environment means something completely different to people of color. The traditional environmental movement fights for the preservation of land, air and water, but the fight doesn’t serve all people equally.

Intersectional environmentalism is a term established by environmentalist Leah Thomas (@greengirlleah) to explain the connection between marginalized communities and the issues facing the sustainability of our natural environment. Intersectional environmentalism acknowledges not only the protection of the planet as a whole but for all of the people that live on this planet.

Learn more...

1. Read the blog "An Introduction to Intersectional Environmentalism" linked in our stories, and other resources, to understand intersectionality and how it relates to environmentalism.

2. Understand the history of the environmentalist movement as it relates to racism, civil rights, and social justice.

3, Follow, share, and learn from people of color in the outdoors. Instead of saviorism, being an intersectional advocate asks, “How can I use my privilege to amplify the work already being done?”

4. Continue to unlearn and learn to broaden your perspective to be an ally for change.
